Eerp! Newbie here, name's Nemi (nem-E) uhmn...blanking on the introduction
thing right now.
Anyways, was reading the posts realized you were talking about merlin, and I
decided to butt my head in.
See, I know a little bit about Aurthorian mythology. I know (I think) Vivian
was the one to put Merlin in the Oak tree (in which case he still might be
alive, and I think he's still attempting to get out.)
But what really intrestes me is the preAurthor stories. Remember the red
dragon and white dragon fighting every night and tearing down the castle before
it was built?
Remember how the wisemen wanted to stop it? Sacrifice someone with the blood
of angels in their veins or somesuch...
There are two version I know of his mother, one is a nun, the other is a lady
of noble standing. As for the father...An Angel, A Demon, or Oberon himself.
All of which are firmly NOT human. The legends could have just as easily
said a Warlock or something, but no, all choices are very firmly in the not human
catagory.
I have always thought that muggles have a better history memory than
wizarding folk give them credit for. So it's entierally possible that the wizarding
world, given their current...idealology against halfbreeds and other species
could have convinently "forgot"
But this brings the idea around, does anyone else have non human blood in
their ancestors?
Could explain where being a Parselmouth comes from.
