Since this started out as a "wondering how other people took it" thing. I'll
just say right now that I think Harry is a little too, um, *clumsy* shall we
say to have gotten far past basic kissing...
So I always thought it went something like, they kissed and Cho broke down
in tears, and Harry was just rather bewildered and took a slow dazed time
getting back to the common room.

Well it *was* his first real kiss.

Back to my original interpretation/theory: They kissed, Cho started crying,
and Harry, not knowing what to do exactly, patted her on the back. *I'd* be
embarrassed if that's how my first kiss ended up. Patting someone on the
back like, 'It's okay... pal?' I mean who *pats* someone's back?
Unless it *is* what they're calling it nowadays.

Cho, the dirty little cradle robber *wiggles eyebrow* (Notice that's a joke,
please no flames).
Before this book I really didn't think about Cho one way or the other
(though I did say that Cedric would come between any relationship she had
with Harry, but did anyone listen?) I didn't like her in this book though
because I got the feeling that, whether consciously or not, she was using
Harry as a source for information and rebound guy. Having said that, I want
to give her the benefit of the doubt that it WAS on a subconscious level and
that she felt guilty before they got much farther and she broke down in
tears and ended up crying on Harry's shoulder for about five minutes.
But that's my interpretation

Maybe I'm just an angsty gal, but I like the idea that even Harry's first
kiss ended up rather sucky (no pun intended) along with everything else that
year.
