My Thoughts:

Obviously it would have, as bboy_mn wrote, "blown the whole story
line", but every time they are late getting out, I wonder why they
don't "require" secret back door passages that lead safely to the
common rooms or to just outside the three houses. Especially with
Fred and George there: I can't believe that they wouldn't have
exploited a room like that for all it's worth -- once they
understood it. And for that matter, what are the limitations of the
old Room of Requirements? I mean, Harry really needs SB back, and
for that matter his folks back too, but I can't imagine they'd
appear in the room no matter how many times he paced in front of the
door. But couldn't it maybe have made a secure fireplace for Harry
to use?

Which brings me to the potential uses of this room . . . Maybe all
the kids are better people than I am, but upon learning how this
room works, I am pretty sure I would have "required" myself a
Firebolt, a couple thousand galleons, and one of those cool trunks
Mad-Eye Moody has.

Liz -- Mind you if this was when I was fifteen, the Room of
Requirements would have immediately dropped a back stage passe to an
Adam Ant concert at my feet. I'm pretty sure I walked around oozing
that requirement! :-)
