Additionally it is the love Harry has for his friends and Sirius
that protects him. When Voldemort possessed Harry the second he
thought of being with Sirius Voldemort had to leave. He just can't
take the love! As we know being with Sirius is one of Harry's
happiest memories and he has a great love for him despite his all
too human weaknesses. I think Sirius showed Harry that no one is
perfect, including his father. Maybe Harry is having to learn
tolerance of others.
