I feel like if Dumbledore went and told everyone he
had the "real" prophecy it might leak out and
Voldemort would find out, then he would go after
Dumbledore to find what it was--despite that
Dumbledore was the only wizard who he "feared". As to
Hary's involvement and why they didn't just have him
destroy it, remember when it was finally destroyed the
prophecy was again "revealed" but nobody could hear
because of the fighting, and Dumbledore purposely
hadn't told Harry about the prophecy--if he destroyed
it, he would have found out, and it may not have been
the best way to reveal that information (especially
because of how emotionally distraught Harry was at the
time). Also, does Dumbledore really want Harry
accidently caught sneaking around in the MoM with one
of the Order, especially with what was happenign w/
Mr. Fudge and what not?--also, Fudge being the "why
not" as to Dumbledore being in the MoM (other than for
Harry's trail)...just my thoughts =-)
