OOP: Prophecy

Why didn't members of the Order just take Harry to the Ministry and 
have him smash that prophecy so that Voldemort couldn't get it? Then 
Harry could have stopped having dreams. 

Trelawney can't remember the prophecies she made apparently. (she 
didn't remember the stuff she said in PoA...she didn't know that 
Harry's b-day is at the end of July) Does she wonder why DD hired 
her after he had already told her that he didn't want to take her?
