I don't think that they were staying at #12 full time.  At Christmas 
time Ron and Harry were supposed to be going to the Burrow before 
Arthur was attacked.  They only stayed at #12 after that because it 
was close to St. Mungo's and everyone could get there easily.  I 
think they were probably at the Burrow and did not know of the 
battle at the DoM until afterwards.
