There has been some discussion about why Dumbledore trusts Snape.
IMO, the reason Dumbledore trusts Snape is that Dumbledore is the one that
taught Snape Occlumency. During the training he would have had the same sorts
of glimpses into Snape's mind that Snape had into Harry's. Thus Dumbledore
knows Snape inside and out. Anyway, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
[My apologies if this has been mentioned before, but I've got 65 unread
digests and I've discovered that each "digest" contains only about half the
messages that it is supposed to. If anyone knows why I'm getting abbreviated
