My attraction to Snape is "Hey! I see myself there!". That's the first
reason I liked Snape. Black wearing, miserable, sulking around with snide
comments. When I first started to read HP I was positively Snape-ish. Still am
actually ... just less miserable :-). Now, it's that Snape is more than what he
seems. It always feels like there's something more there to discover. He's
hardened himself from years of bullying (and, I'm sure, being a bully on
occasion). I still see myself in Snape. When I read the scene with Snape being
turned upside down, all I could think of was sixth grade when these girls said "Oh
my God. What the hell are you wearing?". I still hate them. There was no
reason for anything like that. I can almost feel what it was like for Snape to
have to endure that. And sure, he got comebacks in, but he could never
overpower the Gryffs. He spent alot of time wishing he could do something big.
The Prank could've been his big change to get them. I feel it. Being a
teenager sucks big time.
With Lucius though...it's the power. He's this man with lots and lots of
power. He's written to be this evil guy but he has a certain God knows what to
him. The fight between Arthur and Lucius cemented my love of him. All of his
snide comments and evil things are just kinda cool. Because, in real life, it
couldn't happen. Because you know the good guys are gonna win in the end and
this guy is trying to get what he can while he can. The fact that he gets
away with being a Dark Wizard right under the Minstry's nose is really
intriguing. Well, when you have money you can have anything, right?
Draco, though...I don't really see him as attractive yet. He's a little
immature and underdeveloped to be attractive. He's kind of an idiot. He attacks
Harry on the train? Like there's no one who's gonna help him? Did he forget
about the DA already? He might be attractive in the future books.
I think the male characters aren't written attractive because Harry's (to the
best of my knowledge) straight. He wouldn't even think about the male
characters that way. Again, my opinion about the Straight!Harry...although I think
it's pretty much canon now. Unless the thing with Cho was a farce!
