I hope that this has not been discussed to death already, but on re-
reading the book I was struck by Dumbledore's mention to Harry of the
locked room in the Department of Mysteries that "contains a force
that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than death, than
human intelligence, than forces of nature...It is the power held
within that room that you possess in such quantities and which Lord
Voldemort has not at all."
Presumably he means the power of love. It also seems as though that
is the same locked room that melted Sirius's knifeblade when Harry
tried to open the door. I wonder if that room will play a role in the
next two books.
