That's because the link you clicked on was provided by a subscriber.  In 
essence she is lending out her subscription. 

The link takes you to an image of the article as originally submitted by King -- 
on notebook paper, since he didn't have access to a computer, hence to PDF 
format.  It would be possible to also provide a link to the text-based article, but 
personally I consider this to be a copyright violation.
