the prophecy and Dumbledore's wisdom

Dumbledore is a great believer in one creating one's own destiny.  
He has told Harry (and many others, for that matter) several times 
throughout the HP series that it is our choices, more than anything 
else, that determines who we are.  What is interesting about the 
prophecy is that Voldemort created his own enemy by choosing him.  I 
think that the prophecy is probably a strong driving force behind 
Dumbledore wanting his students and his colleagues (particularly 
Harry) to understand that choices create a person.  I also find it 
interesting that choice has been a recurring theme, and is also what 
binds Voldemort and Harry into the prophecy.
