This is the second time Aberforth is mentioned. And I've wondered if
he isn't the bar keeper at the Hog's Head. The bartender was tall,
thin, long gray beard and hair. I'm pretty certain Aberforth will at
least be mentioned again.

Now me, Alex Cukier:

Sorry for delay repplying this, but this idea is VERY EXCITING!
In fact, look to the descriptions of Albus Dumbledore in HP Series:

CoS - CHAPTER THIRTEEN - THE VERY SECRET DIARY
"They didn't see another person until they reached the entrance hall,
when a tall wizard with long, sweeping auburn hair and a beard called
to Riddle from the marble staircase.
"What are you doing, wandering around this late, Tom?"
Harry gaped at the wizard. He was none other than a fifty-year-
younger Dumbledore."

OoP - CHAPTER EIGHT - The Hearing
Dumbledore was striding serenely across the room wearing long
midnight-blue robes and a perfectly calm expression. His long silver
beard and hair gleamed in the torchlight as he drew level with Harry
and looked up at Fudge through the half-moon spectacles that rested
halfway down his very crooked nose.

OoP - CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN - The Lost Prophecy
"I did,' said Dumbledore. "On a cold, wet night sixteen years ago, in
a room above the bar at the Hog's Head inn. I had gone there to see
an applicant for the post of Divination teacher, though it was
against my inclination to allow the subject of Divination to continue
at all.

And look to the description of a strange and mysterious man, in OoP:
OoP - CHAPTER SIXTEEN - In The Hog's Head
"The barman sidled towards them out of a back room. He was a grumpy-
looking old man with a great deal of long grey hair and beard. He was
tall and thin and looked vaguely familiar to Harry."

As Missy had pointed before (Message 64523), I'm positively sure that
ABERNFORTH DUMBLEDORE IS THE BARMAN AT HOG'S HEAD.
At that position, wouldn't be very difficult to Albus be cynic (or
true?) in this quote:

GoF - CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR - RITA SKEETER'S SCOOP
"An excellent point", said Professor Dumbledore. "My own brother,
Aberforth was prosecuted for practising inappropriate charms on a
goat. It was all over the papers, but did Aberforth hide? No, he did
not! He held his head high and went about his business as usual. Of
course, I'm not entirely sure he can read, so that may not have been
bravery..."

Probably, Aberforth's business is managing a bar, and that is not
something that Albus is proud of... Of course, he joined the first
Order of the Phoenix, probably being a spy - he has "professional"
relationship with some of the worst of wizardry kind at Hog's Head!
