I just recalled something today that directly relates to this. Marcus Flint
is a Slytherin. He is always described as looking as though he is part
troll. If he is part troll, then that would indicate to me he is not a
pureblood. And yet he made it into Slytherin. Granted, his attitude and
actions fit right in with what we've seen out of the other Slytherins, but
he still might not be fully human. I realize that canon never came right
out and said he was part troll, but the thought has been raised, and so I
bring it up here. This would fit in with the Hat being willing to take
Riddle and Harry even though they are not purebloods.
