Shaun pointed out that the farther north you are the more likely you
are to see Venus late at night, so Hogwarts being father north makes
Shaun more right, not less.

WOO-HOO! I get to plug my maps again. I have satellite images of
Scotland and have pick the best locations based on terrain; mountains,
lakes, rivers, absents of towns, railways, and remote location.

This will make sense when you see the maps. My personal preference for
most likely areas are area 1.) and area 3.)
1a)
57d 30' 39" N
04D 48' 06" W
1b)
57d 47' 13" N
04d 36' 00" W
3)
57d 01' 60" N
03d 45' 13" W
For reference, the software I used is called "3D Atlas" with included
satellite maps of the entire world, and is available everywhere cheap
CD's are sold for US$6.00.
Thought you might like to know.
