No, the Cubs did win a World Series in 1906. The Red Sox won in 1918, 
then traded Babe Ruth and never won again. (It's known as the "Curse 
of the Bambino," wouldn't it be great if we learn the Cannons traded 
a great player and got cursed!) Since, the Red Sox have often 
contended, although the Cubs haven't much. A better analogy to 
Chudley might be the Baltimore Orioles or Pittsburg Pirates, who have 
nice past histories but in recent years have been awful.
