After reading this thread tonight, I keep being struck with the 
thought that it had to be Harry who V chose. Neville Longbottom and 
the Philosophers Stone / Chamber of Secrets etc just doesn't have the 
same kick as Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone / Chamber of 
Secrets etc. Stupid thought, but there it is!
