The only differences I spotted are one-for-one word substitutions of 
American terminology for British.  Lexicon Steve is probably going to 
do a very complete job of cataloguing them all... but for now, here 
are the ones I picked up from reading both editions:

In the British version, the past tense of "spin" is "span" - as 
in "She span around to look at him."

In the American version there's an overflowing *dumpster* near the 
entrance to the Ministry of Magic.  In the British version it's a 
*skip*.

In the British version, Cornelius Fudge is referred to as the 
Minister *for* Magic instead of the Minister *of* Magic.

A bit of British slang that means something different in the US - 
Where Fred and George say "We've been keeping our peckers up", the 
American version has them say they've been keeping their *spirits* 
up.  

There are probably more that I missed... but that's a sample anyway.
