Teen girls are pretty scheming when they like a particular guy. In
my experience, we don't quite scheme against the guy, but we scheme
against other girls whom we perceive as a threat. (Actually, I
ended up dating my husband because one girl tried scheming against
me and it backfired, and made her look bad). I don't think we do it
maliciously, or every girl schemes the same way, etc, etc, etc. (I
don't want to be accused of stereotyping) :)
I think why we haven't seen this side of Hermione is that not only
hasn't Ron acted on any of his feelings towards Hermione, he hasn't
shown any interested in ANY girl, with the exception of Fleur, and
Hermione didn't seem to happy about that. Still, Fleur wasn't a
real threat, like Krum was. If a girl started showing an active
interest in Ron, and Hermione perceived her as a threat, the claws
would start coming out. (Luna, perhaps?) I'd like to see Hermione
not quite so cool and collected, and act a little irrational. When
Hermione isn't emotionally detacted, she's just like the rest of us.
