Hi, I am sorry if previous discussions have led to this before.
If they have, the message archives aren't helping me find it.
In some personal correspondence a fellow HP worshipper and I have
elaborated on some conjecture about who is Harry's Godmother.
I made a wildly stupid guess, thinking I would be laughed at till
next book release, I guessed Minerva Macgonagall.
Instead of bales of cheery galumphs and a sympathetic pat on the
back, my friend pointed out to me some interesting things in support
of my outlandish accusation.
My first proposition was that, Mrs Macgonagall being Godmother could
explain her mysterious prescence at Privet Drive in the first scenes
of the series. To my amazement someone has agreed that this could be
a sensible proposition. And furthermore, added that dear Old Minnie
cuts a bit of extra slack for Harry, though she tries really hard not
to, and has been suspected of favouring Harry by many. Perhaps its
not that she is a Gryffindor that this suspicion is supported.
Well on a final note I wanted to point out that Harry's Godfather
bought him a top of the line Broomstick, only one other character in
the books is guilty of the same act of love.
