I agree - there are a great deal of mentions of Harry being without 
his glasses, needed them, his sight being blurred without them, 
taking them off, putting htem back on - surely, with the abilities to 
mend boneless arms and worse, the magical world could deal with a 
little short sightedness?  I think there is some significance, which 
is perhaps being masked by the wearing of glasses...
