One Dimensional ? WAS Re: A few more random thoughts & questions

I disagree about the one-dimensional comment.  I think that we're 
starting to see the characters flesh out more as Harry grows older.  
At the beginning of the books, Harry is only 11.  He's a kid, and 
most kids only see things in black and white.  It's fitting that the 
characters would be pretty one-dimensional: good or bad.  The last 
two books have seen the characters flesh out nicely, in my opinion, 
especially in OoP.  Look at Percy!  He went from a little mama's boy 
to cutting off his family for a little more power.  We're seeing 
McGonagall egg Peeves on to make Umbridge's life hell.  (Up until 
now, McGonagall has always up-held rules just like Hermione.)  The 
Mauraders and Snape are definitely much more fleshed out, as are 
some of the death eaters.  Umbridge didn't seem one-dimensional and 
incompetent, in my opinion.  She's not a death eater (that we know 
of), but she has a very dark side.  Showing Harry that everyone 
doesn't fit nicely into the categories of good and evil.
