Slytherin-Ever So Evil after all?

Am I wrong, or is being a Pureblood considered a prerequisite for
being in Slytherin? I know the Sorting Hat was tempted to put Harry
there, but I'm talking more about the actual "party line," so to
speak, of the students who live there (and, possibly, Snape himself?
He certainly must have believed it at one time at least, to have been
a Death Eater.)

If that's the case, then I think the Slytherins are going to have to
do some long, hard re-evaluation of their own thinking on this
particular issue (whether or not they avoid the temptation to get
involved in the Dark Arts), if they hope to be redeemed.

p.s. Does anyone else find it significant that one of those annoying
ads that appear regularly on these pages [as a barrier to be cleared
before one can click onto a message] is an ad for --ahem!-- Phoenix
University!?!?!?
