Though I actually agree with you, I just wanted to play devil's advocate.
Harry DOES have a prophecy hanging over his head about him and LV saying
"either must die at the hand of the other". So maybe until that's fufilled,
fate is going to keep on getting Harry out of these sticky situations. Handy
out for JKR's plot holes, isn't it?
