One possibility is that the curse in this case is not from a bite, but 
is inherited (along the male line, of course... see earlier discussions 
about a female werewolf not being able to have children due to the 
transformations causing inability to carry to term, and simple logic 
would show male werewolves don't have the same problem)...

And, about Riddle's accusation of Hagrid keeping "werewolf cubs".. just 
consider the source.
