Percy and Prefects who Gained Power

I was going to ask what your take was on Percy  reading "Prefects Who 
Gained Power" in CoS

Me : 

Oh, good one :-) And I'd like to add that maybe reading this book, no 
matter how inadvertently, might have opened Percy's eyes a bit. Maybe 
he read in it that many prefects who gained power were devoured by 
ambition and he resolved not to go the same way ? Who knows, stranger 
things happen in real life.
