okay, having re-read all of the books and re-watched the movies (yes,
i do have far too much time on my hands)a question has posed itself
to me.
how exactly is Harry to kill Voldemort? or more precisely,
how is Harry to "kill" Voldemort?
You see, I dont think Harry either has (1) the capability to commit
murder, or (2) Voldemort the capacity to be killed.
(1)Harry was unable to crucio Bellatrix, and doesn't seem too happy
with the prospect of "murder." That second point strikes me as odd-
wouldnt you think that Harry would be only too willing to kill the
guy responsible for his parents' and godfather's deaths?
(2)In GOF, in the graveyard, Voldemort says to his deatheaters(im
paraphrasing) that he took steps long ago to avoid mortal death.
(this clearly poses the question what other kind of death is their).
Furthermore, LV now has some of the protection that Lily left in
Harry. These facts suggest to me that Harry could not AK Voldemort.
In OOP, during the DD/LV duel in the MOM, DD says (again im
paraphrasing) that there are things that are worse than death, and
that there are other ways of destroying a person. This set of the
alarm bells in my head the first time i read it.
And finally, We know thatsomethings (souls, spirits, whatever)
exist "beyond the veil" ie that there is something-like-life-after-
death. In PS/SS, Dumbledore says that "to the organised mind, death is
but the next great adventure" or something close to it when Harry is
in the Hospital wing. Should Voldemort be killed in a conventional
manner, surely he would move from life to "beyond the veil," and thus
be able to wreck havoc there.
Therefore I think that Voldemort will not be killed, but destroyed,
but how is this to be done?

ps on a totally unrelated subject, compare how Lucius Malfoy treats
Dobby with how Sirius treats Kreacher. I think its pretty similar.
Furthermore, we know that all the pure-blood familys are related. We
have no evidence to suggest that the POtters are not pure-bloods.
Thus the Potters and the Malfoys may be related. Is this why Dobby
shows Loyalty to Harry? In a similar way that Kreacher acts to serve
the side of the family that is in keeping with his personal ideology,
does Dobby do the same?
