Ah, my tender-hearted friend -- that's exactly the mistake Dumbledore 
made with Harry.  If we're learning anything from this saga, it's 
that to reassure people when we're not entire positive that things 
will, in fact, "be ok" (or to protect them from knowledge that might 
frighten or depress them, even if that knowledge is essential) is to 
do them no favor.
