Here's my opinion on the subject. If we take this to a scientific point of view, every so often within a generation will develop a trait that is usually not part of their family history. Nature makes sure that everything it creates will continue to exist. Purebred pets are considered valuable and special, but they are also very fragile. They have less immunity to certain diseases and may be born with abnormalities. If you continue to have children within a small group then it will become evident that these powers will eventually fade and disappear. That's why intermixing will develop stronger breeds and healthier.
