The Useless Character of Harry Potter

I think that Harry would agree with you...yet everyone in the book 
tends to see things different.  All the characters choose Harry to 
teach DA behind the other teachers backs...why, because he is the 
hero.  He, in the end, is the one that has finished off all these 
situations they have been in.  Who killed the basalisk, who won the 
triwizard tournement, who stoped LV from getting the SS, who fought 
LV after Cedric died, who has kept the Gryffindor Quidditch team 
winning, who was able to take the pain of Umbridges quill when 
everyone else wanted to run and tell the other teachers.  Harry has 
a lot more character than you give him credit for, and I think will 
continue to develop even more as he goes along.  No other character 
has had to deal with as much adversity as Harry has had too.  

Now if Harry would have been stuck living with the Dursleys then 
that would have made a useless character.  Harry has achieved a lot 
of things in his life with the help of other people, but no hero 
ever does it alone.
