What makes the books worth reading *is* Harry.  There would be no 
dynamics in the books without him.  He is, quite simply, normal 
(magical powers aside).  And his normalcy makes his achievements all 
the more noteworthy.  Because he's not evil enough, or good at 
everything, or in charge of anything (not even his own life, really) 
is reason enough to be entranced by what he has done and want to 
watch him develop even more.

I agree with Jenny from Ravenclaw--just say no; make him go away by 
not reading any more of them.  Or read something else that will 
comfort your rather narrow sensibilities better.
