Okay - I too feel that Neville will most likely play an important
role in the grand
finale, but the whole thought that he will take over after Harry is
dead, is just weird.
Mainly because the whole series is about Harry Potter and they are
ALWAYS told from
his perspective - if Harry dies, how will we be told what happens
next? Suddenly
shifting main character sounds like a very, very odd way to go, it
would just be
confusing. If Neville was the target of the Prophecy all along, I
think JKR should have
been following him and not the then pointless character of Harry
Potter. I also think
that is unlikely because of that part of the prophecy saying that
Voldemort was going
to mark his opponent... (don't have the book with me, sorry) Harry is
the one who is
marked, after all. It's not impossible that Harry dies, but I think
he will have to finish
off what he's doing first. And that would have to be killing
Voldemort, or the story
won't be concluded. Not to me, anyway.
