The spell he got hit with was a stunning blow or something (red
light), not a killing spell.

I like the idea of Sirius being trapped behind the veil, like
Eurydike in the Greek myth. The myth says she trod upon a snake, fell
down and was bitten. Isn't it intersting that Belatrix, whose spell
hit Sirius is a Slytherin (a snake?)

maybe we see a rescue in Book 6, where somebody has to enter the
world behind the veil to bring Sirius (Eurydike) back from the
underworld.

There is actually a story called "Beyond the veil" being written
(over at SRBL, mild slash warning, and really excellent) that plays
with the greek myth. Remus, like Orpheus has to enter the world
behind the veil (Hades) to rescue Sirius.

What Roxy and Dave said about the "alternative universe" might also
be a possible option:

I wonder if it might have something to do with "Stubby Boardman".
There were lots of discussion on other lists about that seemingly
uninteresting little tidbit.

I agree with Dave (and his dad), as long as there is no body, the
person isn't officially dead.

Any thoughts on this?

Lea
New to the list, so this is my introduction post :-)
