Try Spanish inquisition instead of the nazi regime, and you'd be closer 
to the mark. With nazi regime it was not about your freedom of religious 
expression.

On a possibly off-topic note now: someone reviewed Kleizmer music 
festival for The Times and said what a pity that this wonderful music 
was hunted by the nazis and went underground and nowhere to be found 
these days. Idiot, can it be because the kleizmers themselves went 
underground, literally?
