Sirius, Hagrid and the Motorbike

The motorbike's got to be hidden away safely somewhere. In OoP (p121 
Aus ed) Kingsley asks Arthur Weasly to find out info about Muggle 
vehicles because there have been sightings of Sirius using it. And, 
yes, I realise Kingsley's job is to feed false info about Sirius (how 
LUCKY is Sirius anyway that the "agent" in charge of his case just 
happens to be in the Order?) but surely if everyone knew where it was 
he couldn't use it as false information.

(A question that is bothering me though is, if its a normal Muggle 
motorbike that's been enchanted to fly, how on earth did Hagrid sit 
on it???)
