SCENE: Harry is morose and hiding out from all

24 hrs). Who knocks some sense into him? Who forces
him to confront humanity again? *Hermione.*
Hermione, that's who. Within minutes of arriving and
with snow still in her hair, she is pounding on the
door of the room he's been holed up in, demanding that
he let her in. "I know you're in there. ... I want
to talk to you." Does Harry hesitate for even a
*second*? Nope. Sure doesn't. AND, as far as Harry
is concerned based on what she tells him, he's going
to be having a little private chat with just her over
sandwiches in his room. She doesn't say, "Come talk
to me, Ron and Ginny." No, she leads him away on the
pretense of talking to her, which he does
oh-so-willingly.
My reply: I agree that this was a very good part in
the book. Hermione seems like she is the only person
who isn't scared of Harry (perhaps the connection
could be linked however to the fact that she was the
only non-Weasley (cept Sirius) in the house, he didn't
feel like he hurt her as much. But more likely than
not Harry trusted Hermione with it. Lets not forget
that Hermione is the only one (at this point) that
Harry may feel could understand her. This may be just
because of her knowledge but he felt like he could
talk to her. Another great thing that one should
point out about Hermione is that she is the only
person in the books that flat out questions Harry.
She is the only character who has the gumption to tell
Harry "Stop yelling at us" "Stop feeling
misunderstood." And while Harry might not like
everything that she says he listens to her. He cares
about her.
Ginny, on the other hand, had every bit of time to go
and confront Harry. Perhaps she was waiting for Harry
to come to her on her own (this is probably the most
accurate). But Ginny being as comfortable with guys
as she appears to be should not have any trouble what
so ever confronting Harry.
What hurts me the most out of this whole experience is
even if Ginny didn't want to confront Harry, why on
Earth did Ron just ignor Harry. The only thing I can
think of is that perhaps Sirius told him to let Harry
be for a little while. But obviously they knew that
Harry did not want to intentionally hurt their father
(who has stood by Harry through some very tough times
and is one of Harry's biggest supporters) so why all
of the isolation?
