I agree with this. Harry is kind of passive, but as has been suggest
before, it may possibly be due to the fact that we're seeing the
world through his eyes. That's what often makes me doubt
the "realness" of the descriptions of other characters: we all see
things differently, especially, perhaps, in our teenage years. So as
for Snape, if this was Hermione's story, he might not be all that
unpleasant. We've got to rely on Harry, and his reactive nature.
That's why I don't like him. He's... dull.
