He would just walk off Hogwart's ground, then apparate where he needs 
to go.  That's what Hagrid means, I'm sure.

You've read it more recently, so I suppose you would have a clearer 
memory, but I could have sworn that somewhere it mentions how they 
got their luggage from Hogwarts.  I don't have the book at hand, so I 
can't look right now.
