Me:
Sue -- I'm not sure if Jim Dale had access to the book before it was
published. It would seem so as I got my copy of the audiotape less
than a week after the book was released. You might be able to get a
copy through amazon.com (US). I am not sure, but I say this as I was
able to get copies of the Stephen Fry audiotapes (first 4 books)
through amazon.com.uk even though the US stores did not have any in
stock.
Regarding Bellatrix's accent on the audiotape, I also thought that it
was odd. Why would Sirius's cousin have a French accent?? (I guess
it is possible...) It was a very different accent and voice than Jim
Dale used for her in the pensieve scene from GoF. I wonder if it
means anything (or if he just forgot what voice he had used for her
before and was thinking French because of the last
name "LeStrange"?) Elle
