 Speaking on the silver hand. I was chating with a friend who pointed out one very important fact, Lumos. Peter has helped in the deaths of Lily and James, Sirius was killed by his cousin, all that is left from that group is RJL, who is a werwolf. Take one silver hand, and one werwolf, who wins? Maybe Wormtail has the hand to kill someone but not Harry. ( Thanks for the thought Peabwain ).
