I object to Harry teaching DADA for the simple reason that he is not
fully schooled in the subject and has more to learn. While he might be
able to provide good lessons for his peers, appointing him to the
position would do Harry himself a disservice. It seems that DADA is
more important than ever for him now, and forcing him to teach the
class would deprive him of the opportunity to advance in the subject.

This is not unheard of in the US. When I was a senior in high school, a
physics 1 teacher went on maternity leave, and the school was unable to
find a suitable replacement for the last 4 months of the school year.
So they picked the best students out of the AP Physics 2 class, and we
simply took over teaching her classes for the rest of the year. Perhaps
it's not common, but it does happen.
Echa, who would hate to see Harry get saddled with having to teach a
bunch of snotty brats on top of all his other troubles.
