DADA POSITION CURSED BECAUSE OF POTTER'S DEATH?

Forgive me if this idea has previously been tossed around, but I was 
new to the list this month.  I have searched archives but so far only 
found references to Snape, Lupin and Harry regarding DADA position.

Just a thought, but what if James profession after graduation was to 
be the DADA instructor at Hogwarts.  Then after his family was 
attacked, James and Lily killed, and Harry disappearred-everyone 
thought the position was cursed.

I know this does not explain WHO taught the course in between James 
and Quirrell, but it would certainly answer Snape's 15 year passion 
for the teaching position.  After all he and James have always 
competed for things and jealousy or arrogance has been an issue more 
than once.  Certainly, if James taught DADA, then Sanpe would think 
he was up to the challenge.

Again-sorry, if debated before-please feel free to email me offpost 
with what everyone said.  I would love to hear what others think of 
this idea.
