MY 2KNUTS:
I am in agreement that there is something in the gum keeping that is 
keeping the Longbottoms from recovering. My question is, and it may 
have been discussed before is who is giving them the gum? Does 
Lucious own the company that makes the gum?   Maybe a private 
investor? I also think that the ward the longbottoms are on is 
somehow controlled by the DE's, especially since Lucious makes 
generous donations. Tehre has got to be some connection there. I 
think that if books 6 and 7, Neville will figure out the gums effect 
on his parents, and help them to recover. They could come back and 
help in the Order.  AS far as Neville's confidence, I believe it will 
continue to grow once he gets a new wand.  There has been discussion 
if it is the one in the window of Olivanders or not.
