It said somewhere in one of the books that Snape became a spy for the
Order before the downfall of Voldemort. (sorry, don't have the books
in front of me to remember where) So, he couldn't have switched to
the good side just because Lily and James were killed. He switched
before.

Snape
Well, a lot of the teachers refer to each other by the first name.
Even Prof. McGonagall calls the other teachers by their first name
when she is talking to them. Snape didn't call Lupin Prof. Lupin, he
called him Remus.

I don't think that Snape treats Lockhart the way he does because he
is gay or believes Lockhart to be gay. I think Snape has absolutely
no respect for Lockhart. Snape may not believe that Lockhart is as
good of a wizard as his books say he is. Also, Lockhart has a
superior air about him that none of the other teachers, including
Snape, care to be around.
