I don't have my book beside me right now, but IMO I thought I read that Harry didn't tell Ron and Hermione about the prophecy, because he didn't want to think about either "being murdered or become a murderer". Please let me know if I quoted incorrectly. But that told me that deep down, Harry doesn't want to be the one that had to kill Voldemort. He knows instinctively that it isn't right to kill anyone. Also I thought that it was odd he didn't think it wasn't more like self-defense since he knew that Voldemort would be trying to kill him. He automatically considered it murder. I call this a showing of Harry's developing morality. He had the urge to kill Sirius with bits and pieces of info of Sirius betraying his parents in PoA, but now he definately doesn't want to kill Voldemort for actually killing his parents. He doesn't want to kill, but I believe he will to protect those he loves and cares about. He'll realize that it's not murder and just protection. And obviously
like every normal person, he doesn't want to be murdered.
