Hmm, sorry no one answered your post. But now there are lots of
answers, and perhaps more questions.

There are lots of "if only" things that would have made the story
different, or even not necessary. We can only realize that
hindsight is 20/20, but life must be lived forward. Harry will have
a tough time digesting his guilt over the upcoming summer!

As a loyal crew member of the USS SAD DENIAL, I find it very
upsetting that DD didn't just tell Harry what V was up to, as soon
as he figured it out. Picture this: Using all the information
available to him, including Harry's dreams and reactions when they
are together, DD figures out V's plan. DD tells Harry what V is
after and WHY the Occulemency lessons are so important. He takes
Harry into his office and shows him the contents of the prophecy via
the pensieve. Then they go together to the MoM and Destroy the
dusty record!prophecy that is sitting on the shelf in the Department
of Mysteries. With this series of events we would have no need for
a battle in the MoM, my Beloved Sirius would still be with us, Tom
would be thwarted yet again ... but wait, now there is no story. So
I guess it couldn't have been written that way.

who is suffering severely from not being able to go to Nimbus 2003
this weekend, and wonders if there is any chance it will be on the
Left coast next year?
