I thought that was too glided over as well. The semi-possessed Harry
seems a pretty big complication, just from sheer narrative strategy,
to sustain for another two books!
Voldemort might have been so injured by experiencing Harry's love for
Sirius (rolls this phrase around, then presses bravely on :) ), that
he'll have an aversion to going back in there for a long while-- once
burnt, twice shy.
I agree with the Alchemy Guy-- I'm so sorry I can't find the
reference, there's so many posts!-- that Harry no longer needs
Occulomency. Intellectual strategies are not the message of the
books-- love is. He's kind of been there, done that, with the Snapey
method of trying to ignore your emotions. Harry has had a hard time
allowing himself to love anyone-- who can blame him given his
upbringing?-- and I think his experience of loving Sirius and losing
him has, in effect cauterized his mind against V-morts invasion.
*sigh* I hope we don't have to wait another three years to find out!
