Well, basically because Umbridge was Anti-Dumbledore and Voldemort is Anti-Dumbledore.  So in essence siding with Umbridge is going against Dumbledore.  Which makes me dislike Filch all the more.  

Also because Filch and Snape were always kind of buddies, at least as much as anyone could be with those two.  You know, from back with the three headed dog/leg injury, and so on.  Yet now we find them divided on an issue, so to speak.  Filch backing Umbridge, and Snape, well, let's just say I was cheering for him over his whole "it'll be a month" speech.  Yea, right. :)
