> Hermione will get somewhere with SPEW. Because she is right about
it and she is passionate about it. Also, Dumbledore agrees with her.

> Hermione, I mean, is right to a point. I don't think she should go
round setting elves free that don't want to be free. But I think
she will give them rights so situations likes Dobbys with the Malfoys
couldnt happen.

I think this is entirely possible, but it is also possible that SPEW -
and SPUG and the Society for Helping Overweight Vampire Entitites
(SHOVE) and the League for Educating Giants (LEG) and the other
groups she will undoubtedly found - are things she will remain very
interested in and stick with on a philanthropic level, but not be her
career.

I still think she is destined to become the first fully Muggle-born
Headmistress of Hogwarts. (Yes, I know we have no canon that proves
she's the first, but it would be cool if she was.)

>From there, she'd be in a position to directly affect the lives of
House-Elves (be a place that employs those who have gotten freedom)
and other put-upon creatures (like Dumbledore does) and to indirectly
affect their lives by educating the young to these creatures' plights.

-- Wonder if, in the year 2100, there is a League of Extraordinary
Gentlemen that includes Ron Weasley?
