Sethra says:
Does Dumbledore's protection (Harry is safe at Hogwarts) also extend
to Snape? Is he protecting Severus from Vmort as well? We know
Snape leaves to go to Grimmauld place (unplottable, presumably a safe
place), but I don't recall seeing him off the grounds. OTOH, I may
not recall correctly, but it's something to consider.

I say:
I was wondering about that myself. In an earlier thread, there was talk of
whether Snape was at the cemetery (I don't think so) and whether the DEs
recognized him as the traitor who must die. So....since all the DEs seem to
know each other, do they all know that Snape is their betrayer? And if so,
why didn't they snuff him long ago? Could Lucius and Co. or someone just
ambush him during parent/teacher night (joke)? I am assuming that maybe they
don't know Snape betrayed him, based on the Snape-as-double-agent theory. Is
this pretty much the case? I am re-reading the books and haven't gotten to
any DE references yet, so I am sorry if this is a stupid-sounding question.
